Man charged with murder in step-daughter’s ‘shake’ death

A Brooklyn man was charged with murder Wednesday for beating and shaking his 2-year-old stepdaughter to death, cops said.

David Adams, 25, had been jailed on assault charges after the fatal November attack on Thaiya Spruill-Smith, while the investigation continued.

Adams admitted to hitting and shaking the toddler because she wouldn’t stop crying in his care.

On Wednesday, he got out on $200,000 bail on the assault rap. But the same day, the city medical examiner ruled the girl’s death a homicide, and Adams was charged with murder.

He remains free pending an April 17 hearing.
