Woman struck and killed by subway train in Manhattan

A woman died when she was struck by a subway train at a station in upper Manhattan Monday officials and sources said.

The 54-year-old victim somehow ended up on the tracks of the elevated 1 train at the 207th Street station before being crushed at around 10:30 a.m., cops said.

Investigators believe that the woman was not the victim of any criminality, but sources said it is unclear if she fell or jumped onto the tracks.

An MTA official said the woman may have been standing too close to the edge of the platform just before being killed.
