Alleged drunk driving Jersey City pol. crashes into NYPD Sgt.

An allegedly drunk-driving Jersey City councilman picked the wrong guy to smash into at a Jersey City intersection: an off-duty NYPD sergeant, who helped local cops pinch the pol.

NYPD veteran Sgt. Raymond Elie-Pierre, 48, was waiting at a red light at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday when Councilman Khemraj “Chico” Ramchal careened past, causing a three-car crash, according to a police report obtained by The Post.

No one was seriously injured in the accident. Ramchal, 39, blew a .15 on a breath test, almost twice the legal limit, police said.

Earlier in the evening, the councilman had been at a nearby catering hall for a St. Patrick’s Day party, The Jersey Journal reported. The councilman told The Post in an e-mail that he would beissuing a statement concerning the crash, but had not as of Saturday evening.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, cops said.
