“Scandal” star Kerry Washington will tackle another DC-insider role — this time as whistleblower Anita Hill.
Washington, who stars as Beltway fixer Olivia Pope on ABC’s “Scandal,” will play Hill in HBO’s “Confirmation.”
The flick will revolve around Clarence Thomas’s 1991 confirmation hearings for the US Supreme Court and Hill’s allegations that Thomas sexually harassed her when he was her boss at the Dept. of Education and the Equal Opportunity Commission. Hill made her allegations on national television during Thomas’s confirmation hearings.
The movie will be written by Oscar nominee Susanna Grant (”Erin Brockovich”), who will be an executive producer along with Washington and several others.
