Jets agree with CB Buster Skrine as Revis sidekick

The Jets agreed to a deal with a free-agent cornerback minutes after free agency opened, just not the one everyone was waiting on.

Before securing a Darrelle Revis reunion, the Jets and Buster Skrine agreed to a four-year, $25 million deal with $13 million guaranteed, according to a source.

Skrine, 25, comes to the Jets from the Browns, where he has started the past two seasons. He had four interceptions and 18 passes defensed, but also had 15 penalties, 11 of which were accepted. Cleveland selected Skrine (pronounced Screen) in the fifth round of the 2011 Draft.

The Jets desperately needed to address the cornerback position entering free agency. It was the biggest hole on the team last year.
