DeMarco Murray uses Twitter bio to spite Cowboys in talks

This is contract hardball in the NFL, circa 2015: the social media scrub.

In an apparent fit of frustration, Cowboys free-agent running back DeMarco Murray deleted all references to Dallas from his Twitter account late Monday night.

ESPN reported the team had not contacted Murray or his representatives since last week, and the Twitter wipe was a not so subtle means to show his displeasure at the halting talks. The Cowboys have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to negotiate exclusively with the 27-year-old Murray.

NFL Network reported Tuesday morning that Cowboys executive Stephen Jones, the son of owner/GM Jerry Jones, has reached out to Murray’s agent as part of a final push to secure the league’s leading rusher from 2014.

The Cardinals, Jaguars and Bucs were highlighted by NFL Network as possible destinations for Murray should the Cowboys fail to pony up the money needed to keep Murray in Dallas.
