Cleveland Indians Twitter hilariously trolls criticizing fan

Playing manager from home, while yelling at the actual manager, is a time-honored baseball fan tradition. Getting passive-aggressively silenced by that team in public is a bit more novel, but consider the Indians trend setters.

The Cleveland franchise innocuously tweeted out its spring training lineup for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Rangers, when one die-hard no longer could sit quietly without offering his hot take on the truly boundless and never-ending Tyler Holt-or-Carlos Moncrief debate.

Which is about the time the Indians were fed up with a fan, on March 8, blasting a lineup decision between the 25-year-old Holt and 26-year-old Moncrief, competing for outfield positions with the squad.

For his part, Nick Mier, the fan, handled the putdown in stride, more flattered than offended by the well-earned award.
