How to rock spring’s floral, gingham and ’70s fashion trends

Spring into action with the season’s hottest looks: The Post fashion team shows you how to rock ’70s, florals and gingham.

Checks, please!

On Anahita: Skirt, $3,290 at Oscar de la Renta, 772 Madison Ave. • Top, $125 at vivaaviva.com • SJP pumps, $350 at neimanmarcus.com • Bag, $3,350 at fendi.com; On Johannah: Top, $400 at christopherbu.com • Jeans, $118 at rebeccaminkoff.com • Clutch, $536 at shrimps.co.uk • Nicholas Kirkwood sandals, $1,295 at matchesfashion.comAnne Wermiel

Anahita Moussavian, The Post’s deputy fashion editor, says: The spring 2015 collections showed it’s hip to be square. This heavenly skirt from Oscar de la Renta stole my heart the minute it walked down the runway: Its oversize pastel checks, dreamy layers and feminine silhouette paired with a rosy crop top and bold pumps will zap the prep right out of this pretty trend.

Johannah Masters, The Post’s market editor, says: This ensemble is definitely the catch of the day now that gingham is one of the hottest spring trends. And while it’s usually associated with Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz,” this playful top proves you’re not in Kansas anymore. I paired it with a fun, faux-fur clutch and vibrant sandals to play up the peppy print.

Awesome blossoms

On Anahita: Clover Canyon top, $185, and Suno skirt, $475, both at shopbop.com • Sneakers, $45 at vans.com • Bag, price upon request at blumarine.com; On Johannah: Cynthia Rowley dress, $450 at shopbop.com • Manolo Blahnik shoes, $895 at neimanmarcus.com • Clutch, $1,100 at thaleblanc.com • & Other Stories ring, $22 at stories.com • Bracelet, $95 at venessaarizaga.comAnne Wermiel

Anahita says: Florals took a bold turn this season. With bright colors arranged in unexpected patterns, the options for this oft-romantic trend are endless. I styled this “Bardot” top with a pleated miniskirt for a look that’s fresh, fun and anchored with a pair of chill Vans — total Cali-girl cool.

Johannah says: Florals can be so much more than prints of petals. This cutout dress is a 3-D take on the trend. Here the big electric-red flowers are loosely woven together, and I paired the look with these strappy blue sandals because they reminded me of bright vines. I’ll no doubt be wearing this
dress from Cinco de Mayo to Labor Day.

’70s chic

Anahita says: This decade spans everything from sequins to suede, but the look that caught my eye was this flutter-sleeve boho top and silky pinstripe midi-skirt. This tonal pairing capped off with gem-encrusted platforms and a glitter clutch is delicious day wear with a side of disco.

Johannah says: I must admit, I’ve never seen myself as a ’70s girl. But after seeing scores of stylish choices on the runways, I decided to give the decade a whirl. Turns out a billowy maxi paired with some groovy platforms makes the ideal ensemble for my upcoming tropical travels, or just a night out boogeying in the city.
