PBA boss Pat Lynch hasn’t done a thing to help out the 13 indicted cops facing trial in an alleged ticket-fixing scam, one of the charged officers complained after a Bronx court hearing Wednesday.
Joseph Anthony, a Bronx PBA trustee, said that out of the 800 people that “were somehow implicated in the ticket-fixing scandal, only union reps were arrested. The others were dealt with departmentally.
Where’s Lynch in all of this? Does he see this as an attack on his union?”
Sources said Anthony has an interest in challenging Lynch for the union’s top post.
Lynch was in court for the hearing — but kept his distance from the five defendants who appeared.
Later in the day, he slammed Anthony’s comments as a “cheap shot.”
“This organization, and me as president, have been very vocal from the beginning on this case,” said Lynch. “We’ve hired the best counsel for each of the wrongfully accused police officers, and we hired counsel for the overall issue as well.”
