Teen gets stabbed in head by jealous co-worker, survives

A jealous factory worker in China, who was fuming over a girl, stabbed a co-worker in the head with 3-inch pocket knife — and the man survived, hospital officials said.

Factory worker Yang Chiu, 17, says he remembers minding his own business when he suddenly felt a blow to his head before passing out, Central European News reports.

Lei Peng had warned Chiu to stay away from their colleague Xiao Ling, also 17. But when the victim refused, Peng snapped.

He snuck up behind Chiu and rammed the knife into his head, according to CEN.

Peng bolted as panicked colleagues called the police and Chiu was rushed to the hospital.

Doctors were able to remove the blade and were amazed that Chiu was still able to walk due to the severity of the injury.

“The patient had lost a lot of blood during the surgery, and we were very concerned that he could have been paralyzed forever,” said surgeon Sha Longjin. “However, the only difficulty we see him having at the moment is speaking, and we anticipate with therapy, this problem will go away.”

Longjin says the human brain has the amazing ability to heal itself just like the rest of the body and he estimates that Chiu will make a full recovery within a few months, CEN reports.

Police in the city of Dongguan are now on the hunt for Peng.
