The 5 most anticipated movies of 2015

Sorry, Iron Man and Katniss: You’re still breathing exhaust fumes from the Millennium Falcon.

The most anticipated movie of 2015 isn’t one of the hot new franchises, but the seventh installment of the nearly 40-year-old “Star Wars” saga. “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” due Dec. 18, topped Fandango’s fan survey of next year’s most eagerly awaited cinematic offerings.

Coming in second was the Marvel superhero reunion “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (May 1).

Katniss and Co. came in third with “The Hunger Games: Mockingay, Part 2” (Nov. 15).

Fourth place was tied up by “My Naughty Valentine,” a k a “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which is set to burn up the sheets Feb. 13.

In fifth was the dino reboot “Jurassic World,” starring Chris Pratt (June 12).

Fandango also did a separate survey to find out which family movies are most awaited. No. 1 was the “Despicable Me” prequel, “Minions” (July 10).

Second place went to Disney’s live-action rethink of “Cinderella” with Lily James and Cate Blanchett, due March 13.

In third was Pixar’s first film in two years, and only the second nonsequel from the animation studio since 2009: It’s “Inside Out,” coming June 19.

Fourth place went to Charlie Brown’s new digital reboot, “Peanuts,” slated for Nov. 6 — unless the studio yanks the football away at the last second.
