A supposed hacking threat against cable network CNN turned out to be a goofy hoax, according to a writer from Tennessee.

The threat, which was flagged by the FBI, was posted on the anonymous site Pastebin and warned CNN to “give us the Wolf,” referring to bearded news anchor Wolf Blitzer.

A Tennessee man named David C. Garrett Jr. came out on social media Wednesday as the “boy who cried Wolf.”

“It was a joke,” Garrett tweeted. “I had no idea it would be taken seriously.”

The prankster posted pictures of his Internet history as “proof” of the hoax and said that information on Pastebin is not reliable.
