Jets front office fed up with Idzik, too

Opening a season 2-10 means changes will be made. But for the Jets, those tinkers may be more jack-hammered than chiseled.

General manager John Idzik may be on the proverbial hot seat, according to ESPN, after “alienating” himself to the team’s upper management — as well as, quite obviously, to the fans.

The second-year GM, who has hoarded cap space and draft picks — but mostly whiffed on those picks, at least from an early-returns standpoint — has lost support from much of the front office, according to the report. He already has been chastised publicly by fans, who, led by FireJohnIdzik.com, propped up billboards around MetLife Stadium calling for his sacking. And somehow unrelated to that organized fleet came an aerial attack on Idzik, as a still-anonymous Idzik detractor paid for a banner blaring “Fire John Idzik” to fly over Jets practice.

Add the fact that team owner Woody Johnson is sensitive to the fans’ plight, according to The Post’s Brian Costello, and signs are pointing to a massive reshuffling for Gang Green.

Disgruntled but dreaming Jets fans are ogling Marcus Mariota and salivating at the thought of Jim Harbaugh. Is there a GM equivalent?
