Saints, Colts among at least 4 teams interested in Ray Rice

Ray Rice’s second chance could come quickly.

Just two days after being reinstated, the former Ravens running back has sparked interest in at least four teams, according to ESPN sources.

The two reported teams, the Saints and Colts, are not expected to pursue the 27-year-old, suspended indefinitely in September after video surfaced of his punching his then-fiancee, now wife, in the face.

On Friday a neutral arbitrator overturned commissioner Roger Goodell’s suspension, and the question soon became whether a team would take a chance on the former star, who comes with a great deal of PR-unfriendly baggage.

According to the report, a team would require an injury-depleted backfield and “strong-minded” head coach to fit a Rice experiment — and would need to be a contender, which figures to eliminate the Jets and Giants.

As much as Rice would like to play this season and believes he could immediately aid any contender, the report states, he doesn’t feel as if this year is his last chance.
