NFL’s meanest fan? Football swiped for grandson

Who dat? A Saints fan with no class.

After Jermaine Gresham scored a third-quarter touchdown in Cincinnati’s win at New Orleans on Sunday, the Bengals tight end attempted to flip the ball to a woman wearing a Bengals jersey in the Superdome crowd. However, the woman — Christa Barrett, a transplant from Kentucky — never received the souvenir, because a man in Saints gear unbelievably ripped the ball away from her.

Afterwards, the Bengals fan pleaded with the man — identified by the Cincinnati Enquirer as Tony Williams — to reconsider his seemingly ridiculous action and give the ball to the fan it was intended for, but her wishes went ignored.

The Saints did the right thing, though, and brought the woman a football. Gresham promised an even better souvenir in a Twitter post.

According to the Enquirer, Williams said he kept the ball to give to his 8-year-old grandson, which would make it a bit more understandable. “He kept saying no ma’am,” said Cara Meadows, Barrett’s sister. “No ma’am.”
