Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding are at it again.
Following the success of their 2013 smash single “I Need Your Love,” the dynamic duo have collaborated once more for the new pop anthem “Outside.”
Opening to a trailer park, of all places, the video shows a casually clad Goulding on her knees in the middle of a street in broad daylight. Although it seems like an odd intro, there’s more to the story than meets the eye. As it turns out, both Goulding and Harris are stuck in troubled relationships and itching for a way out.
Hints of real-life troubles in paradise are sprinkled into the nearly four-minute video, as Goulding and Harris have both been a part of highly publicized romances: Goulding’s fling with musician Ed Sheeran simmered out (and resulted in a chart-topping hit), while Harris’ relationship and eventual split with Rita Ora was a tabloid fixture for weeks.
