Syfy to make miniseries out of ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ sequel

The Syfy channel announced that it will make a miniseries out of Arthur C. Clarke’s novel, “3001: The Final Odyssey.” Ridley Scott (“The Good Wife”) will produce along with David W. Zucker, Stuart Beattie and Clayton Krueger.

Clarke’s “Space Odyssey” is a tetralogy, the first of which, “2001: A Space Odyssey,” was famously filmed by Stanley Kubrick in 1968.

The series covers more than 30 years; “3001” begins with the body of the book’s protagonist, floating in space. Production is set to start this year.
