‘Good Wife’ fan fave Archie Panjabi to exit show

‘The Good Wife” will be bidding farewell to another fan-favorite — when co-star Archie Panjabi exits the CBS drama after this season to headline her own show.

The British actress — who has portrayed investigator Kalinda Sharma on “The Good Wife” since Season 1 — has signed a development/holding deal with 20th Century Fox Television to star in a drama pilot this spring.

Panjabi won an Emmy Award for her “Good Wife” role in 2010 and earned nominations in 2011 and 2012. Her contract with the show is set to expire at the end of the current sixth season.

“It’s been a pleasure to write for her, and we’ll be sad to see her go; but we still have her for the rest of season six, so let’s not exhaust our goodbyes yet,” said “Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King in a statement.

Panjabi’s exit follows fellow “Good Wife” star Josh Charles’ shocking departure last season, which set off a reboot that’s earned the series critical praise.
