Royals pick up bar tabs in wild Kansas City party night

On Sunday night, the Royals won their first playoff series in 29 years when they finished an ALDS sweep of the Angels.

The party spilled from the Kauffman Stadium clubhouse to downtown Kansas City when Eric Hosmer decided to use Twitter to rally the masses.

After the game, the first baseman — who homered in the third inning — told fans to meet the team at McFadden’s Bar.

Hosmer personally paid for one hour of an open bar, and the players took pictures with fans and signed autographs, while also showering the crowd with champagne.

The Royals have plenty of time to recover from Sunday night’s festivities: The American League Championship Series doesn’t start until Friday in Baltimore.
