Um, duh: LaRon Landry suspended for PEDs

Colts safety LaRon Landry, known better for his Hulk Hogan biceps and cartoonish physique than any on-field exploits, was suspended four games Monday in perhaps the least surprising performance-enhancing substance violation in NFL history.

Photos of Landry’s bodybuilding have raised eyebrows for years, and this positive test for the eight-year pro — who played for the Jets in 2012 — now directs those same questions at the NFL’s screening procedures.

Landry wrote Monday on Instagram, in an apparent statement on innocence in a post that has since been deleted: “Sometimes things aren’t what they appear to be.”

Landry had 18 tackles in four games for the Colts (2-2). He must sit out until after the Oct. 26 game against Pittsburgh.
