Teen who fatally struck toddler charged for fleeing, assaulting cop

A Manhattan grand jury has indicted the unlicensed teen menace who fatally struck 4-year-old Ariel Russo — this time, for allegedly fleeing DA investigators and assaulting a cop, The Post has learned.

Franklin Reyes, 18, was busted Aug. 31 for driving without a license after city cops pulled him over for allegedly making an illegal turn.

He had been out on bail for the manslaughter rap in Russo’s death at the time.

Instead of stopping, Reyes stepped on the gas, dragging an officer 100 feet, according to the complaint.

Only a week later, Reyes bolted from DA investigator escorts as they left a hospital where he’d sought treatment for an injured leg.

As authorities loaded the uncuffed teen terror into a Correction Department van, he tossed away his crutches and took off running “like a bat out of hell,” a source said.

It took authorities 12 minutes to nab him.

Reyes was already in hot water from earlier this summer, when he was arrested on petit larceny raps for allegedly looting a deceased woman’s pad with his father, who was a super in her building.
