Alex Rodriguez was at the Waldorf Astoria on Monday night for a charity affair, but there were no plans for the third baseman to meet with Yankees officials while in town.
Rodriguez, who has been in contact with GM Brian Cashman about how to handle his re-entry into the Yankees’ universe after being suspended this year (through the World Series), attended an event that benefits the Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis and the Miami Project To Cure Paralysis.
Rodriguez wasn’t among the names on the press release announcing the event.
The Yankees announced Tuesday that Carlos Beltran underwent surgery to remove loose pieces and a bone spur from his right elbow. The procedure was done at New York-Presbyterian Hospital by Yankees team doctor Chris Ahmad.
The right fielder, who was bothered by the spur for most of this past season, is cleared to begin throwing and hitting in six weeks and can start playing in three months.
