Authorities work to ID woman’s body washed up on beach

Suffolk authorities today were trying to identify a woman’s body that washed up on Gilgo Beach, but said they don’t believe the death is related to 10 other corpses discovered nearby since December 2010.

Passersby made the grisly find Monday night near Ocean Walk, about a mile from where a Natasha Jugo, 31, of Queens went missing in March.

“We’re working with the assumption that it’s [Jugo] but that won’t be confirmed until the labs get back” a Suffolk law enforcement source said. “This isn’t related to the other bodies.”

Jugo’s distraught family in Middle Village said they had been contacted by cops.

“Last night we received a phone call from the police telling us that they found some human remains out on Gilgo Beach. Our family is taking this very hard,” said Delores Jugo, 49, the missing woman’s sister.

“We just want to know yes or no, is it her or not? Right now it feels like are were reliving everything all over again. Some closure would be the best thing for our family,” she said.

A woman who lives nearby found Natasha Jugo’s 2009 Toyota Prius, her wallet and driver’s license near Ocean Parkway in March.

Cops spotted footprints in the sand from her car to the water, and a robe and other clothing at water’s edge that her family said belonged to her.

The remains of 10 bodies – including those of five prostitutes – had been discovered nearby. The other corpses belonged to three other women, a man and a female toddler.

Cop suspect one or more killers are responsible for the mysterious deaths, though no suspects have ever been identified.
