Paula Deen the “Butter Queen” can’t give up her favorite fat-laden staple.
The diabetic chef, blasted in the past for her high-calorie cooking methods, is hawking a new line of custom butters at Walmart and Walgreens.
Available in five flavors — southern grillin’, lemon dill, European style, sweet citrus zest and garden herb — the “finishing butters” are supposed to be used in moderation, to add flavor to a meal, according to Deen’s marketing folks.
But Deen may not have received that memo, gushing: “My sweet citrus zest butter is hard to practice in moderation” and “it feels so fresh and clean.”
Deen’s new line also includes tortilla chips.
