Monday, 5:30 p.m., TCM

A plane with a crew of 10 men crashes in the Sahara, stranding them without food and water except for the bit that remains aboard the aircraft. One of the survivors — an airplane designer — convinces the others to build a plane out of the wreckage and save their lives. Thrilling. With (from left) Richard Attenborough, James Stewart and Hardy Kruger.

FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF, 1986

Friday, 12:02 p.m., COM

Classic brat pack hilarity in this silly movie about a high school student (Matthew Broderick) who decides to cut school, knowing that the principal is on his back and wants to catch him. Despite that, Ferris takes the day off with his girlfriend, Sloane (Mia Sara), and his best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck), somehow convincing Cameron to steal his father’s Ferrari. Meantime, to Ferris’ parents, he is just an angel and can do no wrong. Watching Matthew Broderick play all sides is just brilliant.
