ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo is offering $65,000 in federal cash to New York state-shooting ranges so that they can expand — a move some gun advocates believe is an attempt to mend fences after pushing for tighter gun control.

“I think it’s a case of the administration . . . trying to curry favor with the gun owners and range owners,” said New York State Rifle & Pistol Association President Tom King.

Although the move doesn’t impress King, he said he’d invite Cuomo to join him for target practice, as long as the governor doesn’t mind some tough questions.
