Hoboken broken water mains repaired

HOBOKEN, NJ — Workers have finished repairing the last broken water main in Hoboken.

The 30-inch pipe on Willow Street and 14th Avenue was broken by a construction crew on Thursday. Crews worked through the night to finish repairs.

There also was a leak in a pipe connected to a house on Park Avenue and 13th Street Friday.

Workers also fixed a 12-inch pipe at the intersection of Willow and Eighth Avenue that flooded basements and submerged cars on Thursday.

Hoboken residents should continue to boil water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking or making ice. Water does not need to be boiled to shower, wash dishes or clothing.

That advisory will be lifted once officials receive water quality test results.
