Where to watch NCAA tournament games: The pros and cons of staying in vs. going out

What’s one ofthe biggest problems with March Madness? Figuring out where to watch the games.

Thankfully, there are a number of options at your disposal and The Post is here to break down the pros and cons of each different venue.

1.Home:

Pros: There’s no place like home. You can sit around all day in whatever attire you choose (underwear, pajamas, fan gear, etc.) lounge around and just binge watch NCAA tournament games at your leisure.

Cons: You’re likely going to be watching by yourself, which is incredibly boring and really no way to watch March Madness.

2.Friend’s House:

Pros: You get to watch the entire slate of games with your friends, enjoying the camaraderie, analysis and even some trash talking if your schools are playing one another. Also you don’t have to worry about cleaning up after everyone leaves.

Cons: You have zero control over which games are watched when. It is an unwritten rule that when you are over a friend’s house watching the NCAA tournament, that the person whose house has total control over the television. So if your buddy wants to watch the 30-point blowout that will be Indiana-Western Kentucky over the potential upset of Oklahoma State, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

3.Bar:

Pros: Tons of people, great atmosphere, bar food and booze. Need I say any more? Watching sports in a bar with complete strangers is one of the best experiences you can have, especially if you wander into a bar that is specifically designated for a school that is playing.

Cons: Good luck hearing yourself think or anything going on during the game. Also there will probably be a bathroom line and it will be impossible to move.

4.Work:

Pros: You theoretically will be getting paid to watch NCAA games and now thanks to CBS’ Boss Button, you can easily hide the four games you are watching behind an Excel spreadsheet…assuming your occupation calls for using Excel.

Cons: Well aside from the whole getting fired thing, I’m not certain there are many other cons to watching the games at work, but even if you do get canned for missing your deadline on a report or assignment, you can always just watch at home, a bar or a friend’s house.
