Comptroller ‘opens’ Pepsi

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says food and beverage giant PepsiCo has agreed to disclose more information about what it spends on political causes.

DiNapoli had been using his authority as the trustee of New York’s $152 billion pension fund to pressure PepsiCo into giving its shareholders more information.

The state pension fund holds Pepsi stock.

PepsiCo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
