Knicks’ Chandler stars in wildlife conservation PSA

Tyson Chandler shot a public service announcement for NBA Cares aimed at wildlife conservation in the United States and reducing illegal wildlife product trade in China that will air during Thursday night’s Knicks-Thunder game on TNT.

Chandler and Lakers star Pau Gasol both are spokesmen for the effort, which is being spearheaded by NBA Cares and WildAid.

“I am proud to team up with NBA Cares and WildAid to raise awareness about the illegal trade of wildlife products and wildlife conservation,” Chandler said in a release. “It is my hope that together we can encourage people to stop buying and ultimately stop poaching.”

The campaign, which in particular is focusing on stopping the consumption of ivory and rhino horns, will last through the end of the season, including the playoffs.
