Attacker stabs man at 59th Street subway station

An attacker slashed a man on the subway platform below Bloomingdale’s, then fled on a southbound 6-train, sources said.

The victim suffered cuts to the arm and chest during an argument in front of a newsstand in the 59th Street Station on Lexington Avenue, around 12:40 p.m., today, officials said. He was taken to New York Weill Cornell Hospital and is expected to survive, officials said.

The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit stopped a southbound 6-train to search for the suspect and police are questioning a man at Grand Central Station, sources said.
