Hosley, Coe sit out; Webster participates in Giants practice

Two of the Giants’ three ailing cornerbacks – Jayron Hosley and Michael Coe – did not practice Monday, and their status for Sunday remains to be seen.

“Both of those guys did not work,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “They’re a little bit better but a little bit compared to what? So we’ll see.”

Hosley and Coe are both dealing with hamstring issues, while Corey Webster is also battling a broken right hand. Hosley said he feels “a lot better” and expects to play in Sunday’s rivalry game against the Eagles in Philly, but it’s still unknown if that will happen. As for Coe, who missed last week’s game against the Panthers, he labeled himself “hopeful.”

“It’s coming along,” he said. “Slowly but surely.”

Webster, meanwhile, was on the field working, even catching passes one-handed. He’s wearing a cast on his right hand.

“Obviously [the cast is] very cumbersome in practice because they’re overboard with the safety issue as far as practice goes. I’m expecting that it won’t be quite that way gametime. The cast will be smaller,” Coughlin said. “But he’s gonna be able to run and do all those kind of things but it’s gonna be very cumbersome for him in practice because of the size of the cast that they’ve got.”

Coughlin said of RT David Diehl (knee), “I hope we can see some progress and maybe have him this week.” S Antrel Rolle (knee laceration/contusion) was not on the field today but Coughlin said, “He wasn’t supposed to go today. He was to be treated and then Wednesday would be his day.”

WR Domenik Hixon (concussion) is cleared and might practice Wednesday, according to Coughlin.
