New York has been ranked the best city for travelers in the United States and Canada — and the seventh-best destination city in the world, according to a new survey from Travel + Leisure magazine.
It’s the 12th consecutive year that the Apple has won the coveted slot, more times than any other US city.
“Travelers love New York for its incredible restaurants, great shopping and culture,” said Sarah Spagnolo, the magazine’s digital-projects editor who spent the past year quizzing more than 18,000 readers for its “World’s Best” survey.
“Chelsea is a great example,” she said. “Between the High Line, its art galleries, new architecture and restaurants, the neighborhood has become a destination for travelers from all over the world.���
The survey also ranked the Trump International as the best hotel in town and five other New York hotels were among 50 best “Large City Hotels” in the continental United States.
The others were:
* Four Seasons (No. 6)
* Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park (No. 13)
* The Peninsula (No. 19)
* Mandarin Oriental (No. 40)
* The Pierre (No. 44)
The World’s Best City for travelers overall is Bangkok, for the third consecutive year.
