200 cell phones nabbed in brazen Bronx heist

Can you hear me now? — Not after this brazen heist.

Three armed robbers stole a staggering 200 cell phones belonging to Bronx high school students from a truck used by those kids to store their phones during classes, law-enforcement sources said.

Students at Christopher Columbus HS on Astor Avenue freaked out after learning of the robbery of the in-aptly named Safe Mobile Storage truck parked nearby, which they routinely pay $1 each to keep their phones in during the day because they are barred from bring electronic devises into school, sources said.

“When word got around about the robbery, a whole bunch of students ran out of the building to see if their phones were among those taken,” a teacher at the Bronxdale school told The Post. “It’s really concerning to think there was somebody outside the building with a handgun.”

The cellular caper — which came as students are wrapping up the school year and getting ready for a summer of heavy texting, calling and phone use — occurred around 11 a.m. The truck was parked about a block from the school, sources said

Three men walked up to the truck, and at least one of them pulled a gun the two workers inside, sources said. The crooks then bound the workers with duct tape and stole 200 phones from the truck, leaving some phones behind, before fleeing in a Honda.

Sources said cops suspect that the robbery is related to the recent firing of a Safe Mobile Storage worker after she was discovered stealing phones.
