GREENSBORO, NC — He feared his boss would kill him.

Andrew Young, a former campaign aide to disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards, testified yesterday that he thought his onetime employer would hire someone to shoot him in 2008.

The tense moment came at a secret meeting on a backwoods road in North Carolina where Young asked Edwards to come clean about his love child.

In a bid to destroy Young’s credibility, defense lawyers implied that he cheated on his wife and his taxes.

Edwards is on trial for allegedly using more than $933,000 in campaign donations to hide his mistress, Rielle Hunter, and her pregnancy — much of which was stolen by Young who, as a trusted aide to the politician, was tasked with shielding Hunter from the public eye and later even claimed to be the father of Edwards’ love child.
