‘Most slime ever’ at 25th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES — Will Smith promised a record amount of green slime at Saturday night’s 25th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and he delivered.

After parachuting onto the stage at the Galen Center, Smith declared, “This year we are having the most slime ever.”

Halle Berry was the first victim, doused by the green gunk shortly after taking her seat, Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Glee” star Chris Colfer was slimed in the face and “Twilight’s” Taylor Lautner looked as though he had been hit by a cannon, while the fans who filled the pit below the stage were covered in the slop.

First Lady Michelle Obama was on hand to present the annual “Big Help Award” for public service to Taylor Swift for such things as donating money to aid victims of natural disasters and taking on the issue of bullying in the song “Mean,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

Obama praised Swift because, despite her success, she “still keeps her feet on the ground.”

“I’ve always wanted to meet you,” Swift said as she accepted the award.

The awards show featured performances from boy band One Direction and singer Katy Perry, who said she was there because she had “never grown up.”

Among the winners were Adam Sandler (“Jack & Jill”) for favorite movie actor, Kristen Stewart (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1”) for favorite movie actress, Justin Bieber for favorite male singer, while Selena Gomez scooped both the favorite female singer and female TV actress (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) awards.

The awards show, often the most watched children’s program of the year, are an annual celebration for kids, with winners decided by online voting.
