Harris not at Jets practice; Kerley returns

Linebacker David Harris was not at Jets practice Thursday, two days before the team’s showdown with the Giants.

Harris’ absence was not injury-related. He was excused from practice for personal reasons, coach Rex Ryan said.

Wide receiver/punt returner Jeremy Kerley returned to practice after missing two days with an illness. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress said he is feeling better and practiced fully.

The Jets appear to be healthy entering this game. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has a neck injury but has not missed any practice time. Running back/kick returner Joe McKnight has a separated shoulder and could be a game-time decision, Ryan said.

WR Santonio Holmes (hip), CB Marquice Cole (knee), DT Mike DeVito (knee), S Eric Smith (knee) and McKnight were limited in practice. Cole and McKnight are the only players who might miss the game, Ryan said.
