Boys basketball roundup: Berkeley Carroll wins Loyola Christmas Tournament

Berkeley Carroll won the Loyola Christmas Tournament in impressive fashion – by taking out the host team in the final. The Brooklyn private school topped Loyola, 67-46, on Sunday.

Shane Pearley, the tournament MVP, led the Lions (5-2) with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists and Jasper Kitchen added 15 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Duncan Hardy chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Cole Kitchen and Dondre Benson added nine points and seven rebounds each.

Archbishop Molloy 78, Half Hollow Hills West (L.I.) 63: Marko Kozul had 18 points and 17 rebounds and George Davis had 15 points for Molloy (6-2). Isacha Tucker added 12 points. Emile Blackman dropped 28 points for Half Hollow Hills West.

Archbishop Stepinac 69, Cathedral (Mass.) 38: Josh James had 18 points and Quarry Greenway had 10 points for Stepinac (3-3) at the Catholic School Showcase in Springfield, Mass.

Bedford Academy 75, St. John the Baptist 69: Sean Snagg pumped in 27 points, Darren Thomas added 17 points and Iran Duncan had 13 for Bedford (9-2).

James Madison 69, Susan Wagner 63: Sreten Lazic scored 27 points and Lenwroth Locke added 12 for Madison in the Verrazano Challenge at Petrides HS. Wagner is 2-8.

CSI/MCown 74, FDR 47: Quamaine Tomlin scored 20 points and Joseph Ojo had 18 for CSI/McCown (7-0) in the Verrazano Challenge at Petrides HS. Mikhail Ogunkeye had 23 points for FDR.

Petrides 72, Fort Hamilton 71 3OT: Trevor McGhie had 28 points and Elijah Bryant added 21 for Petrides (3-8) in the Verrazano Challenge at Petrides HS. Jalal Alassari scored 22 points and Wilton Rudder notched 19 for Fort Hamilton.

New Dorp 75, Brooklyn Tech 63: Mateusz Wybraniec dropped in 24 points and Michael Arubuola added 15 for New Dorp (4-7). Sebastian Munn paced Brooklyn Tech with 24.

PSAL CLASS B

Health Professions 69, Bard 55: Kwame McClatchie poured in 23 points, Gelvis Solano had 19 points, 14 rebounds and six assists and Karrim Johnson followed with 15 points for Health Profession (6-0) in Manhattan B-2. Teddy Uzamere had 31 points for Bard (2-2).
