Girls volleyball roundup: Hill takes down St. Catharine in non-league

It was just a non-league game, but St. Joseph Hill got a measure of revenge.

The Hilltoppers defeated three-time defending CHSAA Archdiocesan champion St. Catharine, 25-9, 25-18, 25-17, on Saturday in Staten Island in a rematch of last year’s Archdiocesan semis, won by the Crusaders.

Kelsey Carey had four kills, Tiffany Intravaia had 12 assists and Meaghan Frawley added four digs for Hill, which has won the last two CHSAA Staten Island titles. Jackie Solomon added 12 service points. St. Catharine picked up its first league win Friday against Mount St. Ursula in what has been a rebuilding season.
