Lanvin Petite collection offers haute couture for toddlers

They’re tot couture.

Fashion-plate moms who want to turn their girls into li’l Suri Cruises will have a new option this winter — the first-ever collection of couture dresses aimed at toddlers from the French fashion house Lanvin.

They’re less OshKosh B’gosh and more Oscar De La Renta.

Lanvin Petite’s over-the-top frocks for fashionistas aged 4 to 10 use “exquisite and luxurious materials,” like organza embroidered with crystals, satin ribbon and pleated tulle. Definitely not meant for the playground, the outfits feature fabrics costing 10 times those normally used for children’s wear.

The 25 jumpers, dresses and coats will begin to hit select stores at the end of November, a Lanvin spokeswoman said. The Lanvin store on Madison Avenue will sell the frocks, along with the new Little Edit store in the Upper East Side and high-end Kisan in SoHo. The shoes will be sold at the Jeffrey boutique in the Meatpacking District.

Prices run from $390 for satin-finished ballerina flats with tulle pompons to $2,195 for a beige, tiered taffeta dress.

The line is “like a cheeky and delightful take on mommy’s dresses,” the Paris fashion house said.

Still, focusing on all these riches can create very “serious problems” for children’s young minds, as it teaches them to worship celebrities from a dangerously young age, said Diane Levin, author of “So Sexy, So Soon.”
