Casey may foot tot-search bill

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida judge is considering whether Casey Anthony should pay the cost of investigating the disappearance of her late 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Anthony was acquitted in July of murder charges, but the 25-year-old was convicted of four counts of lying to authorities.

She told police a baby sitter had Caylee. Authorities later learned the baby sitter never existed, but the investigation and widespread search for the girl drained manpower.

Several agencies, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, filed expenses of more than $517,000.
