Obama’s illegal immigrant uncle had Social Security number for 19 years

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — President Barack Obama’s uncle, an illegal immigrant who was arrested in Massachusetts last week for drunk driving, had a valid Social Security number and Massachusetts driver’s license for at least 19 years, the Boston Herald reported Tuesday.

Obama Onyango, 67, had possessed the license and Social Security number since at least 1992, according to Registry of Motor Vehicles spokesman Michael Verseckes.

Onyango was pulled over last Wednesday evening in Framingham, Mass., about 20 miles (32km) southwest of Boston, after he made a sudden right turn at a stop sign and nearly collided with a police cruiser.

Onyango, who initially denied being drunk but later admitted to having “two beers,” blew a 0.14 on a Breathalyzer test, well above the legal limit of 0.08.

According to the police report, Onyango was “slurring as he spoke,” interrupted the police officer who pulled him over and had “obviously red and glassy eyes.” Framingham Officer Val Krishtal also reported Onyango was “moderately unsteady on his feet” after being asked to exit his white Mitsubishi SUV.

Later, when officers asked if he would like to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, Onyango replied, “I think I will call the White House.”

Onyango, of Kenya, is the half-brother of the president’s father. He is the brother of Zeituni Onyango, an illegal immigrant who won asylum last year after she was found to have been living on welfare in a South Boston public housing project.

Onyango was arraigned Thursday in Framingham District Court and ordered held without bail on a federal immigration warrant, the Herald reported. According to court papers, he was the subject of a previous deportation order.
