Mike misses the mark

The Issue: Mayor Bloomberg’s solution to govern-ment debt: Raise taxes on everyone.

Our esteemed mayor advocates taxing everyone in order to solve our national fiscal problems (“Mike: Take a ‘Hike,’” Aug. 13).

This man can’t even get potholes filled, yet he’s giving advice on national issues?

Take care of the city first, Mayor Bloomberg. Isn’t that why you chose to run for a third term?

Bloomberg has a point about higher taxes, but he is wrong about his comments on social classes and taxes.

Bloomberg should amend his view to suggest that all social classes be required to pay the same amount.

Why doesn’t Bloom-berg understand that it’s not fair that a secretary of a hedge fund pays 31 percent in taxes while her bosses only pay 15 percent?

When he leaves City Hall, Bloomberg will be remembered for changing its name to “City Gall.”

Billionaires Bloomberg and Warren Buffett call for higher taxes, saying they don’t mind paying higher rates. But their actions show otherwise.

They have been free to pay more in taxes than what is legally required, but have chosen to refrain from doing so.

Those hypocrites should stop their calls for even more forced confiscation of income from millions of non-wealthy Americans.

Bloomberg is right about something — tax everybody.

At least we won’t have to hear the middle class complain about it the way the rich and Republicans do.
