Singin’ hardhat’s Met ‘pitch’

The MTA hardhat whose soothing vocals helps Upper East Siders cope with earsplitting Second Avenue Subway construction noise wants to sing at another frustrating spot for New Yorkers — Citi Field.

Gary Russo, 50, said his real dream is to perform the national anthem for his favorite baseball team.

“If I could sing for the Mets? Oh, forget about it!” he said. “I was born in 1960. I grew up with them.”

About 40 people showed up yesterday at Second Avenue and East 73rd Street to watch him perform.

“Can you imagine? Something like this on 73rd and Second?” said a tickled Ralph Elias.
