HOOPS: ‘Tractor’ Traylor dead

Robert Traylor, the former NBA and University of Michigan big man nicknamed “Tractor” because of his hulking frame, has died in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was playing basketball for the Bayamon Cowboys. He was 34.

Police in San Juan said Traylor was found dead yesterday on the bedroom floor of his oceanfront apartment. Police and Traylor’s team said he had been missing for a few days and apparently died from a heart attack.

FOOTBALL: Favre says he’s ‘done’

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre said he has no intention of coming out of retirement. Favre said he was “done with football” when asked yesterday if he might attempt another comeback.

* Authorities say former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Kordell Stewart has been charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding near Atlanta.

MLB: Morales to miss another season

Angels first baseman Kendrys Morales won’t play this season after deciding to undergo another surgery on his left ankle. The Cuban slugger has been sidelined since May 2010, when he broke his ankle while jumping on home plate to celebrate a game-ending grand slam.

* Bill Bergesch, the former Reds general manager who also spent several years in the Yankees’ front office, died Tuesday in Stamford. He was 89.

* A’s left-hander Dallas Braden will have surgery Monday to repair a torn capsule in his left shoulder.

* Tigers right-hander Joel Zumaya had surgery on his pitching elbow and will begin six weeks of rest and rehabilitation before being reevaluated.

* Phillies second baseman Kevin Frandsen was suspended for 50 games following a positive test under baseball’s minor league drug program.

ETC.: Jagr helps oust U.S.

Jaromir Jagr, 39, scored a hat trick to lead the defending champion Czech Republic to a 4-0 win over the U.S. in the quarterfinals of the ice hockey world championship in Slovakia. The Czechs will meet Sweden, which beat Germany 5-2, in the semifinals tomorrow.

* Ali Gerba scored on a header in the 37th minute to help the North American Soccer League’s Montreal Impact beat the Red Bulls 1-0 in an exhibition game last night in Montreal.
