Volcano ‘vents’

VOLCANO, Hawaii — A new vent opened over the weekend at one of the world’s most active volcanoes, sending lava shooting up to 65 feet high.

Kilauea’s fissure eruption came soon after the Pu’u O’o crater collapsed Saturday, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. Kilauea has been in constant eruption since 1983. No homes are in peril.
