Lindsay Lohan caught on surveillance camera with necklace she allegedly stole (video)

Never-before-seen footage surfaced today of troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan trying on the $2,500 necklace that she allegedly stole from a Los Angeles jewelry store.

The entire video shows four different camera angles and is 42 minutes in length.

Lohan, accompanied by a male companion, was dressed in shorts and hiking boots as she tried on several jewelry pieces.

In the excerpt posted this afternoon by “The Insider,” Lohan is seen trying on the necklace and looking into the mirror.

The one-minute clip does not show what she did next with the necklace.

Lohan has been charged with one count of felony grand theft in connection with the stolen goods.

Lohan, 24, and her lawyer, Shawn Holley, have maintained her innocence.

In an excerpt posted on Monday, Lohan cheerfully chit-chats with the store clerk. During her time in the store, she also appears to send a slew of text messages.

But prosecutors are peeved that the jewelry-store owners hawked the video.

“You like to present your evidence in the courtroom,” said John Lynch, the DA overseeing the case. “That just doesn’t happen as often as it used to.”

A spokesman for the store owners admitted they didn’t tip off prosecutors before peddling the tape.

Store owners gave footage to The Associated Press — which then licensed it to “The Insider” and “ET” to air Monday night — and will receive only a small amount of money, Spencer said.

“They will receive compensation for allowing AP to distribute the video,” said Spencer, adding that they had grown tired of endless media requests for the tapes.

“There was no profit motive here. The purpose was to get people off their back.”
