An elderly woman was mowed down and killed and another woman was wounded when a hit-and-run driver slammed into them on a Brooklyn street today.

Mario Vasquez, 52, plowed the Chevy van he was driving into Maria Prikul, 80, and another victim at 10:15 a.m. as they were crossing the intersection of Bath Avenue and 18th Avenue in Bensonhurst, police said.

The other victim, whose name and age weren’t immediately released, suffered minor injuries to her foot and was also taken to Lutheran.

Vasquez tried to flee but was detained by several good Samaritans who witnessed the horrific accident, police said.

He is being charged with reckless endangerment, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident with a fatality, unauthorized use of a vehicle, DWI and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
