And this little piggie went to . . . the Bahamas.
He and seven other pigs are the only inhabitants of a sandbar Bahamians have dubbed Pig Island, near Staniel Cay.
“They are friendly and will run alongside a person because they like to be fed,” said photographer Jim Abernathy, who discovered the pigs on a shark-diving expedition and is about to release a children’s photo book “The Secret of Pig Island.”
He speculates that someone left the pigs on the island a decade ago and never returned. With three fresh-water springs and food supplied by visitors, the pigs were able to thrive.
