New executive director for DUMBO Improvement District

The DUMBO Improvement District has tapped a senior advisor at the Port Authority as its next executive director.

Alexandria Sica will replace Kate Kerrigan, who is stepping down after two years.

Sica will be responsible for advancing the Improvement District’s long-term vision for historic street reconstruction, economic development and programming.

“DUMBO inspires countless artists and entrepreneurs, urban dwellers and visitors each day — and the DUMBO Improvement District has been a strong advocate for this vibrant community. I am honored to come on board and eager to help build on this neighborhood’s remarkable momentum,” said Sica.

Sica brings to the DUMBO Improvement District extensive experience in government affairs having worked on the Access to the Region’s Core (ARC) Tunnel Project, as well as having served as the economic development director for US Senator Charles Schumer. Prior to that, Sica was the special assistant to the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
